Trades Generalist

Under the direction of the Park Manager 1, the incumbent will perform journey-level work in a primary trade in one of the following:
carpentry, masonry and plaster, or painting. The incumbent will work across the various trades at Clermont State Historic Site and Olana State Historic Site. The incumbent will:
o Plan and lay out work following blueprints, specifications, and directions, including written instructions. o Perform carpentry, masonry, and/or painting repairs including roofing and structural repairs, finish work, window and door restoration, masonry restoration, and skilled painting that will preserve or restore the original fabric of historic buildings and structures. o Read building plans, identify problems, supply rough sketches to scale for work to be performed, make detailed estimates for costs for time and materials, and order materials and equipment. o Use hand tools, portable power tools, shop equipment, and measuring and testing instruments appropriate to the project. o Coordinate and execute projects by working independently with a minimum of direct supervision. o Assist site team in snow and ice control and operate snow removal equipment during winter months. o Supervise lower-level employees and ensure tasks are being completed in a timely manner. o Maintain drinking water systems and complete required tests and reports on a daily and monthly basis per agency and NYS Department of Health guidelines.

Salary Range:
From $44354 to $54140 Annually
Minimum Qualification
Four years of full-time experience in carpentry, masonry and plaster, or painting under a skilled tradesperson which would provide training equivalent to that given in a training, apprenticeship, or equivalent program; or an equivalent combination of experience and training gained by completion of technical courses in skilled trades at a school, institute, or branch of the Armed Services. When required to operate motor vehicles, candidates must possess a valid New York State driver's license appropriate for the type of vehicle to be operated.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
